
A/C Tune Up Checklist
Summer
-
Annual or bi-annual
-
Everyone should get a tune up before the summer (for optimal cooling) and in the winter (to inspect heat strips)
-
We check operation of your thermostat
-
We will check and replace air filters (if you provide your own filters or there is an additional filter fee)

Check freon pressures
-
Check supply/return air flow pressures
-
Check contactor
-
Check capacitor
-
Check unit amperage (which helps see if your fan or compressor is failing)
-
Check fan motor and gears, shaft is not loose
-
Vacuum out condenser
-
Hose off condenser coils, remove debris which causes moisture build up and rust
-
Clean drain (condensation) line
-
Put in air conditioner drain-pan maintenance algae tablets
-
Check fan blowers
-
Check indoor air handler (blower wheel and motor) check for mildew, dust, contaminants}
-
Advise about U/V light to kill
-
Check evaporator coil for debris (can clean for an additional charge)
-
If there are high pressures, then we may recommend that evaporator coil be cleaned (additional fee)
Winter
-
We check everything from the summer tune up, PLUS we check heating strip components
